I worked with Doug at Rochdale branch. He had a great sense of humour! Funnily enough I found this letter in my memorabilia a couple of weeks ago. In 1973 I worked at Rochdale and was sent on relief for a couple of months to Prestwich, Manchester. This letter was sent from Roy Brown, manager of Prestwich thanking the manager of Rochdale. I'm pretty sure that comment Bloody rubbish send her back was written by Doug and initialled by all the staff at Rochdale! Happy days! I last chatted with him at the Rochdale reunion a few years ago. Sad news. RIP Doug.
