MESSAGE KINDLY SHARED DEREK KAVANAGH
It is with the deepest of regrets to inform you all of the passing of my great friend and fantastic work colleague. Marilyn Hooker, sadly passed away yesterday evening after a short but courageous battle. She did not want sympathy during her illness. Her positivity in dealing with her diagnosis was inspirational and amazing. She told me to tell everyone not to cry or to be upset. She was always thinking of the people she was leaving behind especially her husband Martin and her mum Grace.
Marilyn's career began with Midland Bank Overseas, in the Cash Department and she progressed to become a highly respected and knowledgeable manager ending her career in the International Cheque Clearing Department for retirement.
Marilyn's funeral service details will be available soon. May I please ask interested parties to liaise through me after Monday and to allow Martin and the family time to grieve.
Thank you.

Funeral details for Marilyn
Marilyn's funeral will take place on Monday 28th February at 11am starting with a service at St. Mary's Church, Church Street, Dunmow, CM6 2AE and then on to Old Park Meadow natural burial ground, Coppice Lane, North End, Dunmow, CM6 3PL for the internment. There will be refreshments to follow at the Old Park Lodge.
Because of the limitations of a natural burial it was decided not to have flowers, there will be a donation box for St. Clares Hospice charity. I think this is local to this part of Essex. Marilyn would not have got out of the hospital when she did without them. They do great work and she was supported by them throughout her care at home.
If you intend coming to the services please let me know so that Martin can ensure the catering team are informed.
Kind regards,
Derek
