Yesterday I returned to Eastbourne to attend a 41 Club dinner in the evening and as usual I visited the branch I was Assistant Manager at between 1979 and 1982. Unusually it is still very much open for business!!
Whilst working there I was President of the Institute of Bankers and hence I became a fellow at the young age of 35.
Additionally I also found the site of the old Willingdon sub branch which closed over 40 years ago and still displays a Griffin in the window!!
