Yesterday I visited the Oval for the 3rd day of the England v South Africa Test with my ex colleague Andy Quayle. He worked with me in the early 90s on the PAPs team in Watling Court, Scottish Life House and the Blue building before moving on to Balham and Tunbridge Wells branches and the Birmingham Cash centre.
He is now a partner with EY and we have remained good friends for 30 years often completing the London to Brighton Bike ride together since I retired.
At the beginning of the day there was a moving tribute to Elizabeth II and the first public rendition of the new National Anthem which featured in TV bulletins last night.
A memorable day for many reasons.
