Well, 43 years ago today I rang the doorbell of the back door of York Road, Hartlepool, 40 23 48. Peter Emsley opened it on the chain and told me we use the front door. Malcolm Ellerton bought my first legal pint that day at lunchtime.
I've been a total maverick since then but I've still got a massive amount of customers who call me their friend and ask for advice.
