Appreciating the service of Scott Pendrey

29 July 2022

From where it began to where it concluded. The end of an era.

It is with mixed emotions that after almost a decade, today is my final day at HSBC. There’s not many places where in that period of time you get the chance to work in seven cities across three continents, experiencing such a diverse range of cultures.

There’s also less places where you are fortunate enough to work with and learn from such an amazing group of colleagues, many of which have become lifelong friends. It’s been an amazing journey, both personally and professionally, where I’ve worked across a range of rolls; from my first job as a graduate at a branch in Birmingham, to working with startup tech companies in San Francisco, to facilitating sustainable finance across Asia; as well as cycling from London to Amsterdam and having the chance to trek with over 300 colleagues across Mongolia, Greenland and Ecuador for charity - memories which will last a lifetime.

HSBC, I am truly grateful for all the opportunities and I hope that you give many others that join you in the future as much as you have given me #HSBC

27 SEPTEMBER 2022 45 years today I joined Midland. Feel blessed to still be friends with John Mullahy from those far off days. A great journey with lovely people along the way. We had the best of it.
