Appreciating the service of Rob Harrington

Yesterday marked my final day with HSBC after an adventure that lasted 32 amazing years.

It started with Midland Bank, working at the stunning Poultry and Princes St branch in London (now the Ned Hotel) with spells in Corporate and Global Banking, and ended leading the HSBC’s Global Liquidity and Cash Management team in the glorious Midlands.

Moving from London to the Midlands 8 years ago was certainly one of the best decisions I have made in my career!

I have been fortunate to travel globally in my various roles through the years, and I have worked with, and for, some fantastic colleagues whose friendship I will treasure forever. Far too many to mention here, but you know who you are.

I would like to thank all those friends, colleagues and customers who have made my time working at HSBC simply the most personally rewarding experience and enabled me to have such an enjoyable career.

I look forward to the future, and the new opportunities it will bring, which at present seems to involve lots of swimming and walking.

I do know that the one thing that I will certainly miss is the people that have made HSBC such a great place to work.
