Appreciating the service of Mark Howe

On this day in 1980, a rather small but quietly confident 18 year old chap stood tentatively at the doors to Midland Bank Rotherham branch.

He was proudly wearing his brand new charcoal grey suit, bought for him by his equally proud parents from John Collier in Sheffield.

Not quite knowing what adventures lay ahead, he knocked on the huge wooden door.

As it opened, he was warmly greeted by a friendly old Messenger.

An exciting 24 year career had begun.

And the rest, they say, is history.
