On 9 November 1987, like most new starters on here, I rang the bell of my first branch Exchange Place, Middlesbrough branch.
As a 16 year old and began a career that ended 34 years later as a Project Manager here in Hong Kong.
My first job was in sole control, sorting cheques into cheque number order. The cheques were bright blue and my fingers have still never gone back to their original colour. I then went on to teaspoons and encoding and never looked back.
Via Guisborough branch, Romford SDU, 10 LTS, Canary Wharf and HK I have met and worked with some incredible people, learnt wonderful life skills and progressed beyond what I was told by my original area manager, Eric Lee, when I started "Lee, if you work hard and pass your banking exams you can be a manager just like me by the time you're 40".
If he was around I'd have to apologise as I dropped out of my exams, but I did become a manager at 28 so must have done something OK.
Now I'm going to take a much needed rest and decide what to do next if anything!
A big hello to everyone who I've interacted with over the years.
