This day 44 years ago in 1977 I joined Midland Bank International Division, Leicester, then managed by one of the few women managers of the time Miss Joan Learmonth. The branch closed in 1986 and I joined Currency Cheque Centre, Leicester until it’s closure in 1989 when I then moved to the new International office in Nottingham, this was short lived closing in 1993, the work moving back to Leicester (can you spot a theme here). I remained at International Leicester, eventually becoming HSBC Trade Services, Leicester, until I retired after 40 years service at the end of July 2017.
