56 years ago today I walked through the doors of the wonderful Poultry and Princes Street where I worked as a secretary for the next 17 years before a short time with Chief Inspectors Department followed by a couple of great years in the Bank's union office ASTMS.
After my daughter was born I did a few years supplying secretarial support for local branches as and when required.
Eventually secretaries were centralised at Bromley where I was offered week on week off employment which I turned down as Bromley is very difficult to get to, by public transport, from where I live, so I did two years in the local Lloyds Bank before having my son at 42 years old.
I then did childminding for 22 years before retiring aged 64.
I'll never forget the wonderful people I met on that incredible journey.
