I joined the then Midland Bank in 1967.
My maiden name was Elizabeth Prout. I worked at 138 Shaftesbury Avenue.also known as Cambridge Circus. I got married in 1975 when my surname changed to Broome. I left in 1979 when my children came along.
I thoroughly enjoyed my working life there and made some very good friends of which we meet up a couple of times a year. I also keep in touch with one lady by sending and receiving cards at Christmas.
With regards to Ray Berriff did you work behind the counter when I was a cashier, as I seem to remember the name. When my children grew up I worked part time for my local council for 10 years retiring after 9 years.
